God, I hate fan lists
They're just so stupid and pointless, why the heck do people have them?
It's like, do I need to know how many people are "fans" of my graphic novel? If they are, can they instead write out a message saying if they like it, critique this, and support me instead of writing "fan me"?? I don't want to update my comic and see "fan me" instead of "this is -opinion-"

And then the people who just start a comic and have like, the cover and put up an empty fan list and expect people to volunteer. It's like they have an ego and have to post a list of people who love them oh so much.

And I hate it when people will have JUST a cover and people will say fan me. Because it's like, YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT'S ABOUT, HOW ARE YOU MAKING AN ACCURATE JUDGEMENT? Oh right, you're NOT.
I just found a thread with someone saying a vague story idea that pretty much only had the setting and a  tiny silver of plot and someone said "well, consider me your first fan"

WHAT??!!

I was also commenting on a starting comic that had a cover and one page, saying how it looked interesting and I liked it and such and kinda talking with the artist, then someone comes in the thread and says "fan me" and after the artist added their username in the fan list, they said, "Yes, first fan!"
Ok, gold star for you.
Is it such an accomplishment? Are you special now, the golden fan, number 1? What is so special about being the first fan? Cause let me say, I could have said "fan me" and become first fan, and would they have done the same? They wouldn't have been first fan, so would it have been so great? It's like grabbing the last of a batch of cookies that are a flavor you don't even like, just so you can have it.

And I never put myself in a fan list, except for once when I adored the comic and the artist was really friendly and deserved it. But really, if I'm actually a "fan" then I will check the comic for updates and stuff, not be put on a list to be forgotten about. I mean, I could say I'm a fan of Purple Thunder: Wildpaw's Story but I'm not on the fan list. Does that make me less of a fan?

Personally, having a few people compliment my comic and be supportive are better than having a thousand people say fan me. Those are the people that actually care.

I agree. On My comic page, I often have people ask to be added to my fan list when I don't even have one, I think they're pointless and it's getting annoying.
